GET GREEN | TIPS

START WITH THE CONCEPT AND DESIGN:

ü     Let our design team suggest the best way to integrate eco-friendly printing & promotional products with online solutions.

ü     Say more with less.  Let our copywriters work with you to target and condense the content.

ü     Avoid a wasteful and costly reprint.  Utilize our professional proofreaders to review style and grammar.

ü     Minimize page count by redesigning content, printing on both sides of the paper, and/or placing content online.

ü     Select standard sizes for printed materials to eliminate paper waste.

ü     Minimize heavy coverage of ink - saving paper, money and press time.

ü     Utilize online proofing when possible.

ü     Deliver your materials and changes electronically via FTP sites or email.

SELECT ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS:

ü     Recycled / RecyclableTote bags are time-honored traditions as giveaways - give these "old standbys" a new eco-twist.  They're not only made of recycled materials, but are reusable.

ü     Bio-plastic / Biodegradable: Biodegradable pens are made from plants, such as corn, that easily break down in nature, leaving little waste behind.

ü     Natural / Organic: New fabrics and colors make natural or organic apparel both fashionable and eco-smart.

ü     Reusable / Renewable:  Skip the bottled water. Provide reusable water bottles to eliminate container waste.

ü     Energy Reduction or Energy Substitution: Hand crank, solar powered or water powered items such as clocks, flashlights or calculators use alternative, non-harmful resources - thereby leaving a lighter footprint on our environment.

ü     Reduced Material Usage or Packaging:  If you are going to stuff your bags for a convention anyway - consider eliminating the polybagging on shipments.  Purchase local or USA made items to minimize fuel consumption in transportation.

PRINT ONLY WHAT YOU NEED:

ü     Print on paper containing a high percentage of post-consumer waste.  Use chlorine-free papers when possible.

ü     Request soy/vegetable-based inks for offset printing.  Use low VOC toner when printing digitally.

ü     Avoid the use of metallic or fluorescent inks which contain more harmful elements.

ü     Use bio-degradable, varnish or aqueous-based coatings when possible.

ü     Choose recycled binding elements, such as a recycled plastic coil.

ü     Consider on-demand printing for time-sensitive material.

ü     Go "paperless" when possible by using CD-ROMs, USB drives*, email blasts or designing online content.

GREEN UP YOUR DISTRIBUTION:

ü     Target your marketing materials to appropriate segments of your audience.

ü     Regularly update and improve your mailing lists to limit duplications and waste.

ü     Allow customers to opt out of your mailings to ensure you're not sending them unwanted mail.

ü     Use recycled materials for the mailings you create.  Design your mailings to be recyclable, too

UTILIZE ECO-FRIENDLY PROGRAMS:

ü     See how a PURL (Personalized URL) campaign* can reduce printed materials while increasing your ROI.

ü     Consider a complete, no-hassle Online Company Store (OCS)* for apparel, with no minimums; requires no inventory commitment; and without the hassles of carrying inventory.  Low minimums available on non-apparel items.

ü     Ask us how our Inventory Management Programs help save time, money, and resources.
